Little Flower Playgroup

Little Flower Playgroup opens Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 12.00 noon.

Children should not be left before 9.30 am and must be collected by 12.00 noon punctually. Children are not covered by insurance outside of these times.

Please do not send drinks, sweets, toys etc with your child to playgroup as this can cause problems with other children.

It is important that parents provide their child with a pair of wellingtons and a warm coat as we hope to spend part of the session outdoors each day, weather permitting. Recent research suggests that young children benefit greatly from outdoor play healthwise and educationally.

At Little Flower Playgroup we aim to promote ‘independence’. In preparation for playgroup could you encourage your child to dress and undress themselves independently taking off and on their own coat, shoes and wellies. Independence is very important for a child’s self-esteem and confidence and when a child masters simple tasks they have a great sense of achievement. Staff will be on hand to encourage and support your child.

Please do not send your child into playgroup if they are feeling unwell or have any infectious illness. Phone the playgroup and briefly explain the nature of the problem. (See Sick Policy)

Little Flower Playgroup promotes healthy eating habits. We have been awarded the Healthy Snacks Award now for a number of years running, thanks to the co-operation of you, the parents. We will provide healthy snacks e.g. milk and milk products, toast, cereal etc and we request that every parent provide their child with a piece of fruit each day.

Each month parents will receive a News Bulletin with information relating to the Curriculum, diary dates, visitors and general information about the facility.

Since the present Government legislation was introduced on the new Pre-School Expansion Programme for children in their pre-school year, we have been fortunate to have been granted some funded places. We also offer places to fee-paying children and can accommodate 24 children in total.
